Intellectual Property Basics and Local Resources

Join the Midwest Regional USPTO in Detroit, Michigan as we discuss intellectual property (IP) basics and potential ways to protect your invention as you transition from idea to product.  This session is for aspiring entrepreneurs, innovators, and students takes place on the first Thursday of each month. Space is limited; so register early.

The discussion will cover:

•Overview of intellectual property types: patents, trademarks, copyrights, and trade secrets
•Why innovators and entrepreneurs should consider protecting their IP
•Local resources and assistance available through the USPTO and other agencies

Coming to the Midwest Regional Office for an event?  Free parking is available in the parking garage at 600 River Place, adjacent to our building, view parking information. Guests must state they are visiting the USPTO. The USPTO is a federal facility and visitors are required to show a valid form of government issued ID (driver's license or passport), and may be subject to security screening.
