IP Strategy is a Business Strategy

Do you have questions about patents, trademarks, and other ways to protect intellectual property?  Come and meet West Coast Regional U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) Director John Cabeca as he leads a discussion on intellectual property (IP) strategies and why startups should consider them:

  • Overview of intellectual property types:  patents, trademarks, copyrights, trade secrets
  • Why should innovators and entrepreneurs consider protecting their IP?
  • Understanding the risks of early disclosure
  • What types of resources and assistance are available through the USPTO?

The presentation will be held in the Library’s First Floor Reading Room.  The event is free, but space is limited.  Please register here by October 20, 2017.

Program schedule is subject to change.  Contact the library 10 days in advance to request a sign language interpreter or if special accommodations are needed.

The Hawaii State Library is a Patent and Trademark Resource Center (PTRC) that is part of a nationwide network of public, state, and academic libraries designated by the USPTO to support the public with trademark and patent assistance.
